Broward County artificial turf installer

Artificial turf in Parkland.

Parkland handles synthetic turf through its own Landscaping permit, with plan review and base rock inspections. We’ve built turf-joint pool decks here and take care of the permit from submittal to final.

Built for Parkland

Turf that fits Parkland’s pool decks.

In Parkland, a lot of our turf work is part of the pool area: white concrete decks with diagonal turf lines, sunken lounges with turf joints, and lawns that stay green without watering. Planning the deck and turf together keeps the lines straight and the drainage working.

Parkland enforces its turf rules. City code enforcement dockets list turf cases under Sec. 95-1600 when work was done without a permit. A permitted install avoids that and gives you records if you sell.

Parkland turf rules

What Parkland and the state ask for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We check the rules for your lot, prepare any permit, and schedule inspections. Here’s what applies:

  • Parkland requires a synthetic turf permit to be reviewed, approved, paid and issued before installation, with turf specs and installation details.
  • The City’s FAQ says turf is allowed in back and side yards, not the front yard. For single-family lots of 1 acre or less, state law now limits that restriction for turf that meets state standards, so we confirm the current rule with the City.
  • Turf permits go through the Landscaping section on the City’s MGO Connect portal. Contractors must register with the City first, and review takes 7–21 days.
  • The FY2025–26 fee schedule lists a $190 plan review fee (up to two Engineering and two Landscaping reviews) plus a $280 permit fee that includes up to two base rock inspections.
  • Since May 19, 2026, Florida Rule 62-308.100 sets minimum standards for synthetic turf on single-family lots of 1 acre or less. Under section 125.572, Florida Statutes, a city can’t ban turf on those lots that meets the standards, but it can still regulate drainage and environmental impacts.
  • The state standards keep turf out of swales, ditches and stormwater ponds, out of tree drip lines unless a certified arborist approves, and away from lakes and canals, and they don’t allow in-ground irrigation of turf areas.

Turf rules changed in 2026 and cities are still updating their codes, so we confirm the current requirements with the city before every job. This is general information, not legal advice.

How a Parkland turf job gets built

Four steps from layout to finished lawn.

The base in step three decides whether the turf drains after a summer storm, so we don’t rush it.

01

Design + measure

We measure the area, note trees, drains and easements on your survey, and choose turf and infill with you on your Parkland property.

02

Permit + approvals

We prepare the Parkland turf or landscaping permit and any HOA submittal, and schedule the install once approved.

03

Remove + base

We remove sod and roots, cap sprinkler heads in turf areas, set edging, and compact a washed, porous rock base without sealing the soil below.

04

Lay, seam + infill

We roll out and seam the turf, anchor every edge, brush in the infill, and walk the finished area with you.

Parkland turf questions

What Parkland homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

How much is a turf permit in Parkland?+

The City’s FY2025–26 fee schedule lists a $190 non-refundable plan review fee and a $280 permit fee, which includes up to two base rock inspections. We include permit costs in our proposal.

What is a base rock inspection?+

Before the turf goes down, the City inspects the crushed rock base to confirm depth, grading and drainage. We schedule it and keep the site ready so the inspection isn’t delayed.

Can I add turf joints to my existing pool deck?+

Often, yes. We saw-cut the pattern into the existing deck, remove the strips, build a drained base and install turf. If the deck is cracked or sloped wrong, a new deck with turf joints is usually better.

How long does a Parkland turf permit take?+

The City says landscaping permit review takes 7–21 days, depending on the submittal and workload. A complete package with specs and a cross section avoids extra review rounds.
