Built for Coral Springs

Low-water backyards in Coral Springs.

Many Coral Springs homes have mature backyards with St. Augustine lawns that struggle in shade and need regular watering and mowing. Replacing the worn areas with turf, and keeping planting beds where trees need water, is one of the most common projects we price here.

Front yards and swales are treated differently. The City’s landscaping guidance says no artificial grass in the front yard, and the swale is City right-of-way. We design front yards with sod, plantings or concrete and turf-joint driveways that stay on your property.

Coral Springs turf rules

What Coral Springs and the state ask for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We check the rules for your lot, prepare any permit, and schedule inspections. Here’s what applies:

  • The City’s landscaping guidance requires owners to replace lawn they remove and states that artificial grass is not permitted in the front yard. For single-family lots of 1 acre or less, state law now limits that restriction for turf that meets state standards, so we confirm the current rule with the City Forester.
  • Work in the swale is City right-of-way and needs a separate Swale Permit reviewed by Engineering and Zoning.
  • Patio, deck and slab work that comes with a turf project is permitted through the City’s Pool Deck/Patio/Slab checklist, including a lot coverage worksheet.
  • Coral Springs has not accepted paper permit submittals since January 1, 2026. Applications go through eTRAKiT.
  • Since May 19, 2026, Florida Rule 62-308.100 sets minimum standards for synthetic turf on single-family lots of 1 acre or less. Under section 125.572, Florida Statutes, a city can’t ban turf on those lots that meets the standards, but it can still regulate drainage and environmental impacts.
  • The state standards keep turf out of swales, ditches and stormwater ponds, out of tree drip lines unless a certified arborist approves, and away from lakes and canals, and they don’t allow in-ground irrigation of turf areas.

Turf rules changed in 2026 and cities are still updating their codes, so we confirm the current requirements with the city before every job. This is general information, not legal advice.

How a Coral Springs turf job gets built

Four steps from layout to finished lawn.

The base in step three decides whether the turf drains after a summer storm, so we don’t rush it.

01

Design + measure

We measure the area, note trees, drains and easements on your survey, and choose turf and infill with you on your Coral Springs property.

02

Permit + approvals

We prepare the Coral Springs turf or landscaping permit and any HOA submittal, and schedule the install once approved.

03

Remove + base

We remove sod and roots, cap sprinkler heads in turf areas, set edging, and compact a washed, porous rock base without sealing the soil below.

04

Lay, seam + infill

We roll out and seam the turf, anchor every edge, brush in the infill, and walk the finished area with you.

Coral Springs turf questions

What Coral Springs homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

Can I install artificial turf in my Coral Springs front yard?+

The City’s landscaping guidance says no artificial grass in the front yard. State law adopted in 2026 limits cities from banning turf on single-family lots of 1 acre or less when it meets state standards. Because the rules are changing, we confirm with the City Forester before we design a front yard.

Can turf go in the swale by the street?+

We don’t recommend it. The swale is City right-of-way, any work there needs a Swale Permit, and the state standards keep turf out of swales. We keep turf on your side of the property line.

Will turf get too hot by my pool?+

Turf in full sun does get hotter than concrete or travertine. We pair it with a cool-surface deck, as on the Coral Springs project above, and can suggest infills and lighter blades that stay cooler.

Do I still need to water artificial turf?+

No irrigation is needed for the turf itself, and the state rule doesn’t allow in-ground irrigation of turf areas. You may rinse it occasionally, especially with pets. We cap or redirect sprinkler heads in turf areas.
