Built for Plantation

A driveway planned for your lot and your street.

Many Plantation driveways are original to the home. Replacing them usually means removing old slab and base, working around roots from mature shade trees, and rebuilding the approach to current city standards.

If you’re expanding, the sidewalk crossing and setbacks matter as much as the driveway itself. We lay out the new footprint against the city’s width, setback, and impervious-area rules before you approve the design.

Plantation driveway permits

What the Plantation permit asks for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We prepare the permit package, submit it, and schedule every inspection. Here’s what the city looks for:

  • New and replacement driveways require a building permit. Sealcoating a single-family driveway does not.
  • Driveway width can’t exceed 40% of the property width, and the edge of the driveway must be at least 5 feet from the property line.
  • Total impervious area on the lot is capped at 65%.
  • When a driveway is expanded, the sidewalk in that area is replaced with 6-inch, 3,000 psi concrete in 5-foot sections.
  • Homes in an HOA community need an HOA approval letter, and the permit includes engineering inspections for subgrade, rock base, sidewalk forms and final.

Plantation driveway questions

What Plantation homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

Do I need a permit to replace my driveway in Plantation?+

Yes. The City of Plantation requires a building permit for both new and replacement driveways. We submit the plans on your survey and schedule each engineering inspection.

How wide can a driveway be in Plantation?+

City guidelines limit driveway width to 40% of the property width, with at least 5 feet between the driveway edge and the property line. Total impervious area can’t exceed 65% of the lot.

Will you replace the sidewalk too?+

If the driveway is being expanded, Plantation requires the sidewalk in the expansion area to be rebuilt in 6-inch concrete. We include it in the scope and the permit plans.

Do you work in Plantation Acres?+

Yes. Plantation Acres properties are larger and often need extra drainage review. We plan the approach, swale, and turf or concrete layout to suit acreage lots.
