Broward County pool deck contractor

Pool decks in Coral Springs.

Coral Springs has clear rules for pool decks: how close they sit to the property line, how high above grade they go, and how much of the lot they cover. We design to those numbers from the first sketch.

Built for Coral Springs

A pool deck planned for your yard and your pool.

Many Coral Springs pool decks were built when the neighborhoods were new, and they’re ready for an upgrade. Travertine, porcelain, and concrete with turf joints are the most common choices we install here.

The City reviews pool decks for structure and zoning, and it asks for a lot coverage worksheet with every application. We run those numbers before you approve the design.

Recent Coral Springs work includes a travertine pool deck with a raised spa wall and artificial turf. See the photos below.

Coral Springs pool deck permits

What the Coral Springs permit asks for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We prepare the permit package, submit it, and schedule every inspection. Here’s what the city looks for:

  • Pool deck, patio and slab permits require a Broward County building permit application and a Lot Coverage Calculation Worksheet.
  • Applications are reviewed for Structural and Zoning, plus Electrical if the work includes it.
  • The submittal includes the job value, a survey showing the location and scope of work, and plans. Since January 1, 2026, the City no longer processes paper submittals.
  • No pool patio or decking can be closer than five feet to any property line or more than two feet above the average grade of the lot.
  • A Notice of Commencement is required on jobs over $5,000, before the first inspection. Pool deck inspections can be done virtually when the survey is uploaded to the permit.

How a Coral Springs pool deck gets built

Four steps from design to final inspection.

Each step settles the decisions the next one depends on, so the pool stays protected and the jobsite stays organized.

01

Design + measure

We measure the pool and yard, check your survey and setbacks, and plan the layout, elevations, coping, and drainage.

02

Permit + approvals

We prepare the Coral Springs permit package and any HOA submittal, then schedule the work once approved.

03

Remove + build

Careful demolition around the coping and shell, then base, reinforcement, and the new deck surface.

04

Inspect + complete

We pass final inspection, check slope and edges with you, and leave care and sealing instructions.

Coral Springs pool deck questions

What Coral Springs homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

Do I need a permit for a pool deck in Coral Springs?+

Yes. Coral Springs has a dedicated pool deck, patio and slab permit, reviewed for structure and zoning. It includes a survey, plans, the job value, and a lot coverage worksheet. We prepare and submit it online.

How close can a pool deck be to my property line?+

The City’s code says no pool patio or decking can be closer than five feet to any property line, and it can’t be more than two feet above the lot’s average grade.

Can I switch my concrete deck to travertine?+

Yes. We remove the old surface, correct the base and slope, and install travertine or porcelain with a proper edge at the coping. Our Coral Springs work includes a travertine deck with a raised spa wall and turf.

Does the City still take paper permit applications?+

Not for processing. Since January 1, 2026, Coral Springs converts paper submittals to electronic for a fee. We submit electronically from the start.
