Built for Boca Raton

Pavers built to Boca Raton’s standard.

Boca Raton homeowners often ask for travertine, coral stone or large-format pavers that match the architecture of the house and the community. We help choose materials that fit the style and your HOA’s guidelines.

Where the drive meets the street, the City’s design standard sets the paver strength, base thickness and concrete edge restraint. Building to that standard keeps the apron from spreading and keeps the sidewalk route through the driveway level.

Boca Raton paver permits

What Boca Raton asks for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We prepare the permit package, submit it, and schedule every inspection. Here’s what the city looks for:

  • Figure R-16.0 (Paver Block Driveway) calls for ASTM C936 pavers with a minimum 8,000 psi, a 6-inch compacted limerock base and 1 inch of sand bedding.
  • An 8-by-8-inch concrete edge restraint runs to the sidewalk or 10 feet, whichever is less, and the sidewalk through the driveway is 6 inches thick.
  • The pedestrian route through the driveway must be kept accessible under PROWAG.
  • Driveways are 12 to 24 feet wide at the property line, with no loose rock in the right-of-way.
  • The Driveway Design Standards Affidavit is notarized, each standard is initialed, and only the City Civil Engineer can approve deviations.
  • Since July 1, 2026, state law exempts some single-family work under $7,500 from permits, but not structural work, pool barriers, electrical or plumbing work, or properties in a flood hazard area. Work in the city right-of-way, such as a driveway apron, still needs its own right-of-way permit.

Design + measure

We measure the site, check your survey and setbacks, and lay out pattern, borders and drainage with samples on your Boca Raton property.

02

Permit + approvals

We prepare the Boca Raton permit package and any HOA submittal, and schedule the work once approved.

03

Excavate + base

We remove the old surface, excavate, then place and compact the base in lifts before screeding the bedding sand.

04

Boca Raton paver questions

What Boca Raton homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

What pavers does Boca Raton require for a driveway?+

The City’s paver block driveway standard calls for ASTM C936 pavers rated at least 8,000 psi, on a 6-inch compacted limerock base with 1 inch of sand bedding. We spec pavers that meet it.

What is the Driveway Design Standards Affidavit?+

It’s a notarized form where each driveway standard is initialed, confirming the work will follow the City’s design details. We complete it with you as part of the permit package.

Can I use loose gravel or river rock at the street?+

Not in the right-of-way. Boca Raton’s standards don’t allow loose rock there. We can use it inside the property line, or use pavers or turf joints for the same look.

Can you match travertine on the driveway to the pool deck?+

Yes. We often run the same stone family from the entry to the pool, choosing a finish and thickness suited to each area.
