Broward County paver contractor

Pavers in Davie.

Davie paver work ranges from long driveways on acreage lots to patios and pool decks in established neighborhoods. We plan the base, edge restraint and drainage, then take the job through the Town’s paver driveway review.

Built for Davie

Pavers planned for big lots and heavy use.

Many Davie properties are large, and a paver driveway on acreage often carries trucks, trailers and equipment, not just cars. We size the compacted base and edge restraint to how the drive is really used, so the pattern stays tight instead of rutting at the turn.

Drainage matters as much as the pattern. The Town asks for swale cross sections on driveway permits and wants the swale kept at least 3 inches deep, so we set paver elevations to move water toward the swale and away from the house, barn and pool.

Davie paver permits

What Davie asks for.

We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We prepare the permit package, submit it, and schedule every inspection. Here’s what the city looks for:

  • The Town’s Paver/Concrete Driveway Checklist sends the application through Planning & Zoning, Structural and Engineering review.
  • A signed and sealed survey and a site plan with dimensions and setbacks are part of the submittal.
  • The checklist limits driveway width to 20% of the lot frontage or 35 feet.
  • Work inside a utility easement needs an executed Hold Harmless agreement, and work in a drainage easement needs drainage district approval.
  • A Tree Affidavit and swale cross sections are required, with the swale at least 3 inches deep.
  • A recorded Notice of Commencement is required for work over $5,000.
  • Since July 1, 2026, state law exempts some single-family work under $7,500 from permits, but not structural work, pool barriers, electrical or plumbing work, or properties in a flood hazard area. Work in the city right-of-way, such as a driveway apron, still needs its own right-of-way permit.

How a Davie paver job gets built

Four steps from layout to sealed joints.

The base work in step three decides how the pavers look in ten years, so we never rush it.

01

Design + measure

We measure the site, check your survey and setbacks, and lay out pattern, borders and drainage with samples on your Davie property.

02

Permit + approvals

We prepare the Davie permit package and any HOA submittal, and schedule the work once approved.

03

Excavate + base

We remove the old surface, excavate, then place and compact the base in lifts before screeding the bedding sand.

04

Lay, compact + seal

We lay and cut the pavers, set the edge restraint, sand and compact the joints, pass final inspection and seal when ready.

Davie paver questions

What Davie homeowners ask first.

Clear answers before you get quotes.

Do pavers need a permit in Davie?+

Yes for driveways. The Town uses one Paver/Concrete Driveway Checklist, reviewed by Planning & Zoning, Structural and Engineering, with a signed and sealed survey, a site plan, a Tree Affidavit and swale cross sections. We prepare and submit the full package.

Will pavers hold up to trucks and trailers on a ranch lot?+

Yes, when the base is built for it. On heavy-use drives we deepen and compact the base, use a thicker paver, and set a concrete edge restraint so the field can’t spread. Most paver failures we repair started with a thin base, not the pavers.

My drive crosses a utility or drainage easement. Can it still be pavers?+

Often, yes, and pavers are easier to lift and reset if a utility ever needs access. The Town asks for a Hold Harmless agreement for work in a utility easement and drainage district approval for drainage easements, so we confirm both before design.

Should I seal my pavers?+

We usually recommend it after the joints have settled. A sealer helps lock joint sand, slows staining and fades the effect of sun on color. We tell you which product we used and when to reseal.
