Design + measure
We measure the site, check your survey and setbacks, and lay out pattern, borders and drainage with samples on your Fort Lauderdale property.
Broward County paver contractor
Fort Lauderdale has a specific Zoning permit for residential paver driveways and a separate right-of-way permit for the approach and swale. As a Certified General Contractor, we can handle both.

Built for Fort Lauderdale
Many Fort Lauderdale lots are narrow, with alleys, seawalls or tight side yards. Pavers suit them well: they can be installed in sections, lifted for utility work, and cut cleanly around existing walls and landscaping.
Near the water, salt air, sun and standing water after storms are hard on outdoor surfaces. We choose light-colored, dense pavers or travertine, set the slope to shed water quickly, and recommend a sealer suited to coastal exposure.

Fort Lauderdale paver permits
We’re a State of Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1527850). We prepare the permit package, submit it, and schedule every inspection. Here’s what the city looks for:
Sources: City of Fort Lauderdale Permitting Services; City of Fort Lauderdale Engineering Permits; City of Fort Lauderdale ROW Sidewalk/Curb Permit Checklist. Requirements change, so we confirm the current checklist with the city before every submittal.
Paver options in Fort Lauderdale
Most paver problems start below the surface. Every job gets a compacted base, bedding sand, a solid edge restraint and slope away from the house.
Concrete, brick or travertine pavers on a compacted base with a concrete edge restraint.
Paver and stone patios, garden paths and entry walks laid to drain away from the house.
Cool-to-the-touch stone and porcelain decks with matching coping.
Soldier courses, banded borders, bullnose steps and coping that finish the edges.
Pavers or stone slabs separated by artificial grass strips for a modern look.
Lift and relay sunken areas, refill joints and seal to protect color.
How a Fort Lauderdale paver job gets built
The base work in step three decides how the pavers look in ten years, so we never rush it.
We measure the site, check your survey and setbacks, and lay out pattern, borders and drainage with samples on your Fort Lauderdale property.
We prepare the Fort Lauderdale permit package and any HOA submittal, and schedule the work once approved.
We remove the old surface, excavate, then place and compact the base in lifts before screeding the bedding sand.
We lay and cut the pavers, set the edge restraint, sand and compact the joints, pass final inspection and seal when ready.

Fort Lauderdale paver questions
Clear answers before you get quotes.
The City lists “Pavers/Driveway – Residential Only” as a Zoning Walk-Thru permit type. The approach and swale are a separate right-of-way permit. We submit both through LauderBuild.
A Certified General Contractor qualifies for limited right-of-way work under the City’s checklist, and homeowners can’t do it themselves. We hold CGC1527850 and handle that portion.
Light travertine and light, dense concrete or porcelain pavers stay noticeably cooler than dark colors. We bring samples so you can compare them in the sun on your own site.
Sometimes, if the slab is sound, drains well and the added height clears doors and thresholds. More often we remove the slab and build a proper base, especially near the water.
